Meet One Of The Faces Behind Country Stitch Design
I’m Kimberly McKnight, the proud co-owner of Country Stitch Design, along with my husband, Steve.
I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.
The idea to start a business came about when my husband, Steve and I undertook a road trip one summer holiday. It was while enjoying the beautiful scenery of the countryside that we decided to merge our passion and love for sewing and designing and form Country Stitch Design. Little did we know that we would embark on an ambitious journey to craft custom embroidery apparel. Our products include horse blankets, tacks, and feed bags, and we have experimented with many innovative ideas since starting our venture in 2014.
Over the past five years, I have noticed that as our products are niche, we have had to get used to the twists and turns along the way, but whatever challenge we face, we are always willing to get back on the saddle.
I view our business as a work in progress, as we started selling our affordable products directly to clubs and then due to the encouraging response, added an e-commerce portal.
The most rewarding part of owning a business is the lovely like-minded people that I get to meet each day. I believe our customer-first approach is one of the reasons we stay ahead of the pack. We never make excuses, only improvements, and are committed to quality, which has added to our success.
I believe along with achievement comes social responsibility, so part of the proceeds from our profits are reinvested into the ecosystem, as we sponsor horse shows for the youth.
When I am not at work, I spend time at horse shows where I get to meet many of our great customers. I also enjoy spending time with my kids and taking them to hockey rinks and gymnastic centers.
I have enjoyed sharing my story about the things which matter to me and how they influence the way I do business.
